Juwi, based in Germany, is an international company focused on the development, construction and operation of generation plants based on renewable sources, mainly wind farms and solar photovoltaic plants.

In Uruguay, the company was in charge of the development and construction of the Melowind wind farm with 50 MW of installed capacity, consisting of twenty 2.5 MW Nordex turbines. The farm is located in the town of Arbolito in the province of Cerro Largo, 370 km from Montevideo. The facilities consist of a connection and measurement station in 150 kV, UTE type with 4 bays (2 line, 1 coupler and 1 generator bay) and a 31.5/150 kV transformer substation with a 50 MVA transformer. The wind turbines are connected by a 31.5 kV underground network with over 50 km of conductors that make up the farm’s power circuits.

Ingener was responsible for the detailed engineering, the supply of the main equipment and all materials, the execution of the civil works, the electromechanical assembly and the commissioning.
