The Uruguayan company INGENER will build the infrastructure of the 39.6 MW “La Banderita” wind farm for the Argentine company Grupo FRALI, awarded under the Renovar 1.5 program. The wind farm is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2019.

 

INGENER, the leading engineering and construction company in Uruguay dedicated to conducting power generation and transmission projects, officially began operating in Argentina’s renewable energies market after signing, with Grupo FRALI, a contract for building the infrastructure of the 39.6 MW “La Banderita” wind farm project, located near General Acha, province of La Pampa.

 

Grupo FRALI is an Argentine company which has been investing in the country for over 25 years. It has run development and constructions projects for different commercial segments, such as real estate, hotels & hospitality, agriculture, cattle ranching, energy and financial businesses. The majority stockholder of Grupo FRALI belongs to one of the owners of the home appliance company, Frávega.

 

By virtue of the signed contract, over the next 12 months the Uruguayan company will build this turnkey project. This includes all the farm’s infrastructure, such as the foundations and the erection platforms for the eleven 3.6 MW wind turbines, pathways, and its new 132/33 kV substation and associated network to connect the wind farm to the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI).

 

The “La Banderita” project was awarded to GRUPO FRALI in November 2016, as part of Renovar 1.5 auction. The works are in progress and the power station is set to go on stream in the first quarter of 2019.

 

INGENER is a key developer of the investment process that has transformed Uruguay into a leading country in renewable energy development in Latin America and has expanded to Argentina to be part of the power industry development promoted by the government.

 

In addition to the renewable energy market, the company has also established itself in the thermal power generation industry, where it has almost completed the electro-mechanical assembly and commissioning of the 250 MW Matheu power plant, for APR Energy company, and it is currently carrying out the erection works of 240 MW Matheu II and 120 MW Lujan power stations, for Araucaria Energy.
