The Uruguayan company INGENER strengthened its position in Argentina’s renewable energy area by signing a turnkey contract with the Chinese-owned company Envision Energy, to build the electric infrastructure of Los Meandros wind farm. This project was awarded during Round 1.0 of the renovar program and the site is located near Plaza Huincul and Cutral Co, in Neuquén province.

Over the next 12 months and in consortium with the firm Milicic, INGENER will build the wind farm civil and electro-mechanical works and the interconnection to the 132kV network. Specifically, Ingener will be responsible for the switching substation engineering, supplies, construction and commissioning for the 132kV line that connects Arroyito and Plaza Huincul substations, operated by the local distributor EPEN. In addition, Ingener will complete the same tasks for a new 132kV line, spanning approximately 20 km to the location of the wind farm, and also for a 132/33kV substation and the MV network between the substation and the wind turbines, including 33/0.69kV transformers at the base of each wind turbine.

INGENER, the largest engineering and construction company in Uruguay’s power sector, is operating in Argentina since 2016, developing a successful integration process to the local market where it has already positioned itself as a benchmark among construction companies. So far, it has built the substation at GENNEIA’s Villalonga wind farm, it is currently building the infrastructure of La Banderita wind farm under a contract with GRUPO FRALI and also the infrastructure of Central Puerto Renovables’ La Genoveva (I & II) wind farms. The company has also established itself in the thermal generation industry, where it has completed the electro-mechanical assembly and commissioning of the 250MW Matheu power plant, for APR Energy, and the electrical assembly of 240MW Matheu II and 120MW Lujan power stations, for Araucaria Energy.
