IN HOUSE ELECTRICAL MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF REEFER CONTAINERS

Katoen Natie is a multinational corporate group of Belgian origin. It is one of the main port and logistics operators worldwide.

Since 2001, Katoen Natie is the licensee of Montevideo’s port only dedicated container terminal, Terminal Cuenca del Plata, a company that operates in partnership with the national ports administration.
Through its in house management system, Ingener is responsible for the electrical supply, maintenance of gantry cranes, electrical construction, terminal lighting (35 hectares), plugging and monitoring of reefer containers.
Some of the greatest challenges were the commissioning of the four new gantry cranes and the operation of the new remote monitoring system for controlling the reefer containers parameters.
To maintain this important infrastructure, Ingener permanently operates with 40 people in house.
