The project involved the mechanical installation and services for a new plant for the extraction and treatment of the gases generated by the electric arc furnace of the steel mill.
Scope included:
– New 1,800-bag double-cage filter
– 35-meter-high stack
– 2.5-meter-diameter duct connecting the new unit to the furnace
– 2 fans of 220,000 m3/h each
– Dust silo
– Dust conveying system
– Steel structures
– Compressed air installation
– Power electrical works
– Instrumentation and control
– Associated civil works.
The installation totaled nearly 300 tonnes of steel, some 300 lifts at heights of up to 30 meters, 3,500 meters of welding, 2,000 meters of power cable and 5,500 meters of control cable.
