Upgrade of the Fire Protection System (FPS) at ANCAP’s Terminal del Este facility in José Ignacio, Maldonado, including deluge and foam protection for 8 API tanks of 65,000 m3 each.
The works included:
-Fire water network with HDPE pipes and fittings up to 24”, valves and other components.
-Installation of two 4,000 GPM diesel fire pumps and their respective jockey pumps.
-New hose hydrants and high-capacity monitors. -Installation of a foam system for the seals of each tank.
-Installation of cooling ring systems with sprinklers on each tank. Fixed automatic water spray system to protect fuel pump seals.
-Construction and installation of a new FPS pump room (2 diesel motor-driven pumps of 4,000 gpm / 10.5 bar).
-Complete fiber optic detection system with a computerized monitoring and alarm panel.
