San José, Uruguay — 2006/2008
Client: UTE. Subcontract for Santos CMI
In 2005, UTE awarded General Electric the public tender for the turnkey construction of a thermal power plant in the department of San José. The new plant added 300 MW to the national generation fleet and comprises the following facilities: diesel or natural gas generating turbines, a diesel pipeline and storage tanks, a gas pipeline, a substation and high-voltage line, and a water supply line.
General Electric hired Santos CMI, which in turn subcontracted Ingener for the engineering and works of the first stage, consisting of the design, supply, and civil and electrical works to connect 4 General Electric gas turbines (4×50 MVA) to the 150 kV grid.
In a second stage, when the plant was expanded, Ingener also carried out, on a turnkey basis, the design, supply and installation for the connection of two additional General Electric gas turbines (2×50 MVA) to the 150 kV grid, including the complete high- and medium-voltage electrical works.
